In a partnership with Scania and Refuelling Solutions, we are excited to share that our new low emissions bio-buses are now on the road!
Our bio-buses run on B100 biofuel - a low carbon, renewable alternative to diesel, which reduces carbon emissions as much as 67%, compared to regular diesel. Biofuels are readily available and an excellent solution to start reducing emissions right now.
Biofuel is a cleaner burning, renewable fuel manufactured from waste products such as used cooking oil and animal fats. The use of biofuels not only reduces carbon emissions, but also improves air quality by releasing fewer pollutants (particulate matter) in to the atmosphere.
Biofuels are commonly blended with diesel, however our bio-buses use unblended (B100) biofuel, maximising the environmental impact.
We are committed to continually improving our businesses sustainable footprint, and transitioning to a low or zero emissions fleet. The use of biofuels in our fleet are just one step in this pathway.
We are actively researching and planning our next steps, and are excited to make those announcements in the future.
